Mandy Stalcup, LCSW

Mandy Stalcup (Ms. Mandy) was born and raised in Deer Park, Texas and is a graduate of Baylor University and The University of Texas at Austin. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work and a Master of Science degree in Social Work.  She is a proud Bear and Longhorn! 

Ms. Mandy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 14 years experience working primarily with children and adolescents. This will be her second year at Hillcrest Elementary. She is passionate about social justice, equity, play therapy, and using a trauma informed approach to working with all students.  She believes in fostering safe, therapeutic relationships to help address children's mental health needs so that they can be successful in the classroom.  

Ms. Mandy has lived in Austin for 16 years and has two cats, Dexter and Pearl. In her free time, Ms. Mandy enjoys spending time with family and friends, dancing, traveling, and spending time in nature.

Elvira Guerra, Counselor

Ms. Guerra was born in Mexico and moved to Texas at the young age of 3. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1996. She later received her Master’s of Education in School Counseling in 1998. She has worked as a dedicated professional school counselor at Hillcrest Elementary for 25 amazing years! Go Hawks!

Her experience as a school counselor has strengthened her bond with students and staff of all walks of life. She enjoys getting to know students and helping them achieve their social, emotional and academic  goals.

Mrs. Guerra is blessed with an adoring husband, a lovely teenage son, and a loyal rescue named Benji. Mrs. Guerra loves to travel, go on walks and hikes, and above all spend time with her family. Mrs. Guerra is excited to begin a bright new year that will make everyone “Better Together.”
